Dave Matthews Band Boston, MA Poster

As Dave Matthews Band wraps up another year of touring, we were excited to take on another gig poster for the band, this time for their show in Boston, Massachusetts. We were inspired by a cold winter night on the Boston Harbor, lit by the famous Boston Light lighthouse, and we contained the whole scene in a classic camping lantern, complete with moths buzzing around the flame.

The poster is an 18” x 24” three-color screen print on Neenah Paper Patriot Blue 100 lb cover stock. Check out a few close-up photos of the finished prints below, along with our initial concept sketch, and a video covering our design process. The Dave Matthews Band Boston, MA poster is available in a very limited artist edition of 60 prints in the DKNG Store. Due to the limited nature, the sale is restricted to only one print per customer, and once the poster sells out it will not be available in the future.

Jack White California Posters

Jack White is currently touring the US in support of his new album, Boarding House Reach, and we were happy to take on the poster duties for three of his California shows. For his first night in San Francisco, we did our take on a classic rusted-out hull of a car, set ablaze with Jack White blue flames. For night two in SF, we were inspired by Jack’s lyrics, combining a leather boot along with three birds lacing it up. Lastly, for Jack’s stop in Bakersfield, we took on a set of traditional locks and keys, with some Jack reference hidden throughout their decorative inlays.

Each poster in the series is an 18” x 24” three-color screen print on Classic Crest Epic Black 100 lb cover stock, with signed and numbered editions of 420 for each of the San Francisco shows, and 291 for the Bakersfield show. Check out our initial sketches below along with closeup photos of each print, as well as process videos for SF Night 2 and Bakersfield. All three Jack White posters go on sale in the DKNG store on Tuesday, August 21, at 9am Pacific Time.

Van Morrison Los Angeles, CA Poster

One of our favorite artists, Van Morrison, is back on the road this year, and we had the privilege of creating a poster for his two-night stop in Los Angeles. We had fun with the Vegas poster we created for Van during his 2017 tour, and decided to add to the series with a Southern California themed neon sign, also printed on metallic rainbow foil.

The poster is an 18” x 24” three color screen print on 10pt Rainbow Foil with a signed and numbered edition of 275. Check out our initial concept sketch below along with close up photos of the finished print, and a process video documenting the design of the poster. The Van Morrison Los Angeles poster is now available in the DKNG Store.

Almanac Beer Co. Tropical Galaxy

We’re excited to share our latest collaboration with Almanac Beer Co. on their new Tropical Galaxy beer, a Galaxy dry hopped sour farmhouse ale aged in oak barrels with mango, lime, and coconut. The name immediately conjured up imagery of 1960s sci-fi wrapped in a tropical vacation. We landed on a beach scene of an astronaut preparing to ride the waves of an alien planet, surrounded by the beer’s ingredients, along with some friendly alien wildlife.

Initial Concept Sketches

This project also gave us the opportunity to embrace the sci-fi cinema look by creating a limited edition poster to commemorate the beer’s release. The poster is an 18” x 24” 5 color screen print on rainbow metallic foil paper, giving the print a sparkling intergalactic appearance. The poster also made an appearance at the annual Screens ’n’ Suds charity event in Chicago with proceeds benefiting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Mockingbird Foundation and Alzheimer's Association.

Almanac Beer Co. Tropical Galaxy Poster

Tropical Galaxy is now available at the Almanac Taproom in San Francisco and available throughout the country wherever finer beers are sold.

From Almanac:

"Tropical Galaxy is a cosmic elixir of lush equatorial flavors. We blended mangoes, lime and coconut together in oak foedres with our farmhouse-brett base beer to create a far out and funky tropical treat. We finished it with a generous dry-hopping of Australian Galaxy Hops, contributing aromas of passionfruit and citrus. Enjoy on your next intergalactic odyssey with fresh crab, jerk chicken or scallop ceviche."

Polar Bears Art Print Benefiting NRDC

In the spirit of holiday giving and protecting our planet, we’re excited to announce our new Polar Bears art print benefiting the National Resources Defense Council. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the print will be donated to NRDC, which works to safeguard the earth—its people, its plants and animals, and the natural systems on which all life depends. NRDC is the nation's most effective environmental action group, combining the power of more than two million members and online activists with the expertise of some 500 scientists, lawyers, and policy advocates across the globe to ensure the rights of all people to the air, the water, and the wild.

The print itself is an 11” x 14” two-color screen print using two split-fountains on 100lb off-white recycled paper. The print is a timed edition which ends at 11:59pm on Sunday, November 27. The number of prints that sell in that time period will dictate the edition size of the print. All prints will be signed and numbered by DKNG. For orders made within the United States, every effort will be made for the prints to ship and arrive prior to Christmas, pending the final edition size. Please keep in mind orders shipped outside the United States will take longer to deliver, but should arrive by January 2017. Phish Alpharetta, GA Posters

This past weekend, Phish performed two nights of sold out shows at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park in Alpharetta, GA, and we were thrilled to design a diptych poster set for the gig. While the two brontosauruses depicted might not be native residents of Georgia, they are enjoying the state’s famous peaches as they face off against each other.

Each poster is an 18” x 24” four color screen print on French Construction Cement Green paper with a super limited artist edition of 50 available for sale. Check out a video documenting the design process below as well as our initial sketch and close up photos of the finished prints. The two posters are now available in the DKNG store.

Dave Matthews Band Charlottesville Poster

It’s hard to believe, but Dave Matthews Band has been performing for 25 years, and we were honored to create the artwork for their 25th Anniversary show in Charlottesville, Virginia, where their career began. The design features the band’s original tour van in front of the John Paul Jones Arena, one of many Charlottesville venues that were home to the band’s early performances.

Along with advertising for the show, the artwork is available as a limited edition poster. The poster is an 18” x 24” four-color screen print on French Kraft-Tone Index Off-White paper. Check out our initial sketch below along with closeup shots of the finished print, which is now available in the DKNG store.
