Phish

Phish Alpharetta, GA Posters

This past weekend, Phish performed two nights of sold out shows at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park in Alpharetta, GA, and we were thrilled to design a diptych poster set for the gig. While the two brontosauruses depicted might not be native residents of Georgia, they are enjoying the state’s famous peaches as they face off against each other.

Each poster is an 18” x 24” four color screen print on French Construction Cement Green paper with a super limited artist edition of 50 available for sale. Check out a video documenting the design process below as well as our initial sketch and close up photos of the finished prints. The two posters are now available in the DKNG store.

Phish Commerce City, CO Poster Series

Over Labor Day weekend, Phish performed three nights of sold out shows at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colorado, and we’re thrilled to have created a triptych poster set for the gig. We were inspired by the surrounding Colorado landscape and car themed Phish song Fuego, and illustrated a series of three off-road vehicles making their way through the Colorado mountains with camping gear in tow.

Each poster is a 12” x 24” four color screen print with a limited edition of 725. We also created a process video that includes both our design process as well as the full printing process. Thanks to Monolith Press in Alameda, CA, for a great print job and for documenting the whole process on film. Check out the video below as well as our initial sketch and close up photos of the finished prints. The three posters are now available in the DKNG store.

As part of their summer tour, Phish is playing back to back nights at the historic Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Washington.  To commemorate the two-night visit, we created a diptych showcasing the beauty of the Gorge with a few unexpected supernatural visitors coming along for the ride.

Each poster is an 18" x 24" three color screen print on Environment Quest Ivory stock with an edition of 700.  Check out a few close up photos of the prints below as well as our original sketch.  We also created a process video for this poster which includes our design process as well as a glimpse into the printing process at Monolith Press.  These posters will go on sale in the DKNG store on July 30 at a random time.

Phish // Atlantic City, NJ Poster Series

Working with the band Phish seems to get more and more exciting and rewarding as time goes by. Above is our latest work created for Phish's three night concert series in Atlantic City, NJ. This would be the first time we've created a triptych, which proved to be a challenge.

The four color screen print was created on a 36"x24" parent sheet and then cut down into three individual 12"x24" posters. Each poster is hand signed and numbered out of an edition of 800. Mathematically speaking, 2,400 prints were signed and it took a team of two grown men 6 hours to complete. It was a grueling day, but a gracious closure to a massive project nonetheless.

These prints will be available in our online store on June 18, the day after the last show. There will be a very limited amount for sale in our online store, so be sure to act quickly.

We've made a process video for the poster series, which you can view below along with some close up shots of the actual prints.

Phish New Year's Eve Run 2011-2012 Posters

For any poster artist, creating work for the legendary band Phish is an honor. Being asked to create our fifth poster for them was exciting enough. Making it for their annual New Year's Eve Run, a four night concert series held at the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York City, was jaw dropping to say the least.

We created two color variants of the poster, each with an edition of 700. We will be selling a very limited amount of each poster in our online store starting on New Year's Eve. Below is a process video for the design along with the original sketch and some close up shots of the actual print.

Phish Descends on the Hollywood Bowl

Phish is arguably one of the most epic bands touring today, so it's fitting that their stop in Southern California is at the legendary Hollywood Bowl.  We were thrilled to be asked to create the poster for the show, and decided on an other-worldly theme, depicting the Bowl itself as a spaceship arriving on the California coast by way of Phish's home state of Vermont. Below is a quick video going over our process of designing the poster.

The poster is a 4-color screen print on Astro Black paper and has a signed and numbered edition of 1,100 (our biggest ever!).  A limited number of prints will be available in our store Today, August 9.  Check out some shots from the show and close-up photos of the poster below.

Closing out 2010 in style: Phish's New Year's Run

Phish's 'New Year's Run' is a staple of their annual touring schedule and we were thrilled to be asked to create a poster for their two-day stop in Worcester, Massachusetts. In the late 1800s, Worcester was known as the home of early 'lunch wagons' or dining cars that were eventually shipped all over the Eastern Seaboard. We decided to use the interiors of these classic diners as the basis for the poster, with plenty of Phish references thrown in for good measure. Check out the photos below for some detail shots of the poster. A limited number of prints are available in the store.

There are also some beautiful photos by Dave Vann of both nights in Worcester on the Phish Facebook Page .
