Galactic 2014 Tour Poster

Galactic 2014 Tour Poster by DKNG

To kick off 2014, we had the pleasure of working with one of our favorite funk bands, Galactic. Galactic’s music fuses tradition New Orleans second-line rhythms with horns routed through guitar effects pedals and other unique sounds. For their poster, we equated their sound to a mad scientist’s take on a musical lab. All of the instruments in the band are represented in the poster as well as a few experimental objects.

The poster is a 24” x 18” five color screen print on French Construction Fuse Green paper. Check out our original sketch of the concept below as well as closeups of the final print. We also created a process video for this poster which you can view below. The poster is now available in the DKNG store.

Incredibly insightful! I can’t thank you guys enough for the Rock Poster class you hosted on Skillshare last year, I found DKNG studios about a month before that class started and have been following you guys since then on a regular basis. I did the Blind Pig gig poster for That 1 Guy entirely by hand.

Since then my own graphic design firm has grown substantially and have not had a single client that wasn’t absolutely satisfied with the quality of work and the professionalism along the way – both of these things I’ve learned a great deal from observing you guys. We were just recently hired for a huge poster project for the largest company we’ve worked for – and thats a huge step in the direction we want to go as a firm.

Again, thank you! Keep doing what your doing!
